Zelenskyy meets Japan's Lower House speaker
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he has met with Japanese Lower House Speaker Mori Eisuke. Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude for a Japanese delegation visiting Kyiv despite "all the threats," calling it an expression of true respect.
Zelenskyy announced via social media on Tuesday that he held talks with Mori.
Zelenskyy said the visit is very important coming amid what he called constant and brutal shelling by Russia.
Zelenskyy also said he hopes Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae will visit Ukraine.
In their talks, Zelenskyy and Mori exchanged views on topics such as energy sector assistance to Ukraine, where winter is approaching.
They also discussed cooperation in the defense sector via an assistance framework set up by NATO. Japan participates in the framework.
