Yasmien Kurdi reveals she developed hives due to stress following daughter's alleged bullying - GMA Network

Yasmien Kurdi revealed that she developed hives due to the stress of dealing with the trauma suffered by her daughter Ayesha, who was allegedly bullied in school two years ago.

On Instagram, the actress shared photos of her showing the reddish welts on her arms from the skin condition called urticaria.

She also posted a photo of Ayesha curled up in fetal position on a hospital bed.

"Hindi na-address ang bullying kahit ilang beses na kaming nagreklamo. Na-hospital ang anak ko for two weeks dahil sa anxiety at nag-therapy for six months after the December 2024 incident para lang bumalik sigla niya," she said.

"At dahil sa sobrang stress at pag-aalala ko sa kanya, ako naman ang sumunod na nag-ER dahil nagkaroon ako ng matinding urticaria," she added. "Ganun ka-traumatic 'yung pinagdaanan namin ng pamilya ko, and sabay pa noon ang postpartum period ko."

Yasmien said she was breastfeeding her youngest daughter Raya at that time and she had no choice but to throw away her breast milk.

The actress said she needed something to distract her mind from the pain of what they went through, and she found healing when she entered law school.

"Hindi ibig sabihin na walang stress sa law school. Pero ibang klaseng stress siya. Kasi may choice ka naman kung mag-stay ka o hindi. It keeps my mind occupied, gives me purpose, and helps me focus on something positive instead of constantly reliving what happened," she said.

Yasmien studies law in Arellano University.

In a previous post, she looked back on her decision to take the entrance exam despite being uncertain of the path she was taking. She has since realized that it became the way for her to slowly heal from what her family had gone through.

Yasmien has publicly spoken about the alleged bullying Ayesha suffered several times. She first posted about it on Instagram and tearfully opened up on what happened in a guesting on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda."
