The kidnapping triggered a chase as locals followed the Hyundai Venue and tried to stop it.

The vehicle was eventually stopped near Hosahalli. According to preliminary information, locals pelted the car with stones while trying to prevent it from escaping.

An eyewitness alleged that more than 20 people were injured and that some people who tried to stop the car were attacked with a machete. Police, however, have so far said six people were injured in the vehicle collisions.THREE ACCUSED HELD, DRIVER ABSCONDING
