WEATHER: Cape Town faces showers and storms on Wednesday, Gauteng stays warm - EWN

Cape Town is in for a cooler, cloudier and unsettled Wednesday, with showers and a thunderstorm possible, particularly later in the day, according to AccuWeather.

The city is expected to reach a high of 23°C. There is an 87% chance of rain and a 52% chance of thunderstorms, with about 2.2mm of precipitation forecast.

Winds will blow from the southwest at 15km/h, with gusts reaching 33km/h.

The wet weather should ease by night, when conditions are expected to be partly cloudy. The temperature will fall to 16°C, with just a 4% chance of rain and a 1% chance of thunderstorms.

Johannesburg will see a much brighter Wednesday, with intervals of clouds and sunshine and a high of 25°C.

Winds will come from the north-northwest at 13km/h, with gusts of up to 32km/h.
