We have our differences: Actor Jiyaa Shankar addresses split rumours with fiance
Actor Jiyaa Shankar has dismissed rumours of a breakup with her fiance, Kaaran Dhanak, after weeks of speculation about their relationship. Sharing photographs from a beach outing on Monday, she said the claims about the couple were baseless.
The Bigg Boss OTT 2 fame actor also spoke about the challenges of living together. Jiyaa acknowledged that she and Kaaran have differences and arguments, but said they are learning to understand each other and hope to grow together.
Alongside a series of romantic pictures from their beach date, Jiyaa wrote about the realities of building a life with her fiance.
“If no one told you how difficult life would get when you’re learning to live together, then let me tell you this ain’t no Bollywood movie,” she wrote.
Jiyaa said the two have had their share of disagreements and are still figuring things out as a couple.
“We have our differences, and we’re only learning to be better for each other. We’re not perfect. We’re only humans who fell in love and chose each other. We’re best friends and in the end only hope that we figure it out and grow together in this life,” she added.
Addressing the speculation directly, Jiyaa said reports about Kaaran and their relationship were untrue. She also urged people to stop making assumptions.
“Everything that's been said about my fianc or our relationship holds no truth to it whatsoever. Let’s move forward with love and kindness now, can we? I wish you all love and peace and hope you find love that’s perfect for you,” she wrote.

Jiyaa had largely kept her relationship out of the public eye before announcing her engagement to Kaaran on August 5 this year. After the announcement, she began sharing glimpses of their time together, including photographs and videos from parties, holidays and travels.
Speculation about a possible split began after fans noticed that Jiyaa was resharing posts and reels about heartbreak, betrayal and emotional pain. Some of the posts were widely circulated on social media, prompting questions about the couple’s relationship.
One post reshared by Jiyaa read, “Two things I know for sure: Prayers work and tables eventually turn.” Another said, “Some nights I don't want healing. I want the universe to admit that what happened was cruel.”
As speculation grew, Jiyaa issued a statement asking fans not to make assumptions or spread rumours about her relationship. At the time, however, she neither confirmed nor denied the breakup claims.- Ends
