Sachin Salunke, a power lifter from Tiganibidari village in Vijayapura district of Karnataka, won a silver medal at the Commonwealth championships held in Canada recently.

He competed in the 105 kg men’s category. He performed 310 kg squats, 180 kg bench press, and 270 kg dead lift.

Sachin Saluke has been a sportsman for over a decade, and has been practising power lifting for nearly five years now.

Minister of Large and Medium Scale Industries M. B. Patil has congratulated the sportsman.
