Usha Vance stuns in gold Oscar de la Renta gown at Trump-Xi state dinner
The wife of US Vice President JD Vance, Usha Vance, brought old-school glamour to the White House State Dinner, stepping out in a dazzling gold gown for the state dinner hosted by US President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife, Peng Liyuan.

Oscar de la Renta is a go-to label for the First and Second Ladies of the US.
Vance’s gown was crafted entirely with gold bugle beads, giving the floor-length silhouette a striking metallic sheen.
The Second Lady, known to make chic sartorial statements, kept the rest of her look understated, letting the shimmering gown take centre stage. She wore her long hair open, while her makeup was kept minimal. Simple earrings completed the look.
Meanwhile, her husband, Vice President JD Vance, wore a classic black tuxedo, complete with a crisp white shirt and black bow tie.
The couple were among the guests at the September 24 dinner in the White House's East Room, where Trump and Melania Trump welcomed Xi and Peng. A lot of tech executives were also on the guest list.

She wore black Dolce & Gabbana brocade trousers featuring a peony motif, paired with a white Saint Laurent cotton-poplin blouse with an oversized bow and a black Dolce & Gabbana silk cummerbund.
Together, the two looks offered very different takes on formal dressing for the diplomatic evening: Usha leaned into the sparkle of a traditional floor-length gown, while Melania opted for tailored separates and trousers.
