Typhoon Queenie exits PAR - GMA Network

Typhoon Queenie (international name: Surigae) has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 5 p.m. bulletin on Sunday.

As of 4 p.m., Queenie was located outside PAR, about 865 kilometers northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.

Queenie was moving northeastward with maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 190 kph.

PAGASA said Queenie was near its peak intensity and was expected to accelerate northeastward toward the sea south of mainland Japan.

The state weather bureau advised the public and concerned disaster risk reduction and management offices to take all necessary measures to protect life and property and continue monitoring weather updates. — MCG, GMA News
