Travis Kelce admits no-call for holding Talanoa Hufanga was 'definitely' questionable

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce appeared to get away with a blatant hold on Denver Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga on quarterback Patrick Mahomes' first-quarter touchdown run on Monday Night Football in Week 1.

Three days later, Kelce admitted he got away with what should have been a holding penalty on the "New Heights" podcast with his brother, Jason Kelce.

“It was definitely a questionable play," Kelce said of the non-call. "That’s one of those where you get up slowly, like, 'Please don’t be any laundry on the field.'"

That play likely wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game as the Chiefs went on to win 31-10, but Kelce acknowledged it should have been a penalty.

"[I] had the man up by his neck," the tight end said. "Can't do it, can't do it. I almost cost us ... that was risky business right there."

Kelce finished the night with three receptions for 71 yards. Most of that production came on a 59-yard catch-and-run that also featured a questionable non-holding call. Kansas City was clearly the better team on the night, but by Kelce's own admission, the officials botched at least one would-be penalty.
