The district Tourism department organised the βMorning Walk in the Lap of Natureβ on Saturday as part of World Tourism Day celebrations at the Urban Forest near Gargeyapuram.
District officials, Forest department staff, Tourism department officials and students participated in the approximately 3-km walk, enjoying the scenic beauty of nature and the chirping of birds.
Ravindra Educational Institutions head G. Pullaiah, who attended as chief guest, said organising walks in a pleasant natural setting helps foster health awareness among the public. He said that walking was the simplest form of exercise for maintaining health and urged everyone to make it a daily routine. He also highlighted that regular walking could improve heart health.
District Tourism Officer Thirumala Naidu said it was highly commendable to promote a healthy lifestyle among employees, students, and the general public, while also utilising natural spaces like the Urban Forest for tourism development.
Subsequently, district officials and students visited various locations within βNagaravanamβ, including Pilli Konda, the view tower, and the yoga centre. The officials commended the Forest department for the development of the park, noting that its natural beauty had been preserved.
Officials and students also participated in boating within the park.
