Three men shot dead inside car in Khayelitsha after passenger opens fire - IOL

Police are probing a triple murder in Khayelitsha after three men were shot dead inside a car by a fellow passenger who opened fire before fleeing.

Three men were shot dead inside a car in Khayelitsha when a fellow passenger pulled out a gun and opened fire.

Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said the shooting happened on Joe Gqabi Street in Town Two, Makhaza, at 12.30 pm on Wednesday.

Van Wyk said detectives from the provincial serious and violent crime unit were following leads to track down the gunman.

"Preliminary investigations indicate that all three deceased persons were inside the Toyota vehicle when another passenger randomly started shooting at fellow passengers," he said.

SAPS members responded to the scene and found the body of an adult male with multiple gunshots inside a grey Toyota vehicle.

"About 500 metres from the scene, another body of an adult male was found with multiple gunshot wounds to it."

Whilst on the second scene, another body was discovered in Tabang Street.

"The deceased males are yet to be identified. The motive for this shooting incident is yet to be determined."
