Three killed, fourth wounded in Lingelethu-West shooting - IOL

Police are investigating a triple murder and attempted murder after four men were shot inside an informal dwelling in Phumleni, Lingelethu-West.

Three men have been killed and another wounded in a late-night shooting inside an informal dwelling in Lingelethu-West, adding to the toll of gun violence in one of Cape Town’s high-murder police precincts.

Police found four men with gunshot wounds inside the dwelling in NB63, Phumleni, after responding to the shooting at about 10.20pm on Sunday.

Three of the men, aged between 27 and 36, were declared dead at the scene. A 38-year-old man survived and was taken to hospital.

No arrests have been made and police have not yet established what led to the attack.

Western Cape police spokesperson Colonel André Traut said Serious Violent Crime detectives were investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

“Forensic experts are processing the crime scene and investigators are following up on available leads. No arrests have been made at this stage,” Traut said.

Police have not released the identities of the three men killed or disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The case is being investigated as a triple murder and attempted murder.
