The silent majority - Bangkok Post

Almost every day, the news is filled with stories about "foreigners behaving badly". Social media often suggests that foreigners are the problem, ignore the law, and have little respect for Thailand.
What is forgotten is that countless foreigners do follow the rules.
Many of us carefully comply with immigration requirements, even when regulations are complicated or change unexpectedly. We embrace Thai culture, learn local customs, become part of our communities, support local businesses, volunteer, pay taxes, and contribute positively to Thai society. We rarely make the news because responsible behaviour is not newsworthy.
