Thailand rallies behind Nene Royal in AGT final - Bangkok Post
Thailand is rallying behind Nene Royal as the 16-year-old Phuket rocker prepares to take the stage in the live finals of “America’s Got Talent”.
The live show will air on the NBC network from 9pm to 11pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, or 8am to 10am in Thailand on Wednesday.
Nene — also known as Rattikarn “Praew” Amloy — is among 10 finalists vying for the first prize of $1 million, but the exact order of the performances is not yet known.
The AGT Season 21 winner, based on online fan voting, will be announced on Wednesday night in the US, with the broadcast from 8am to 10pm Thailand time on Thursday.
The government is calling on Thais to place their support behind Nene Royal, deputy spokesperson Ploythalay Laksameesaengjan said on Tuesday.
“The government admires Nene and has full confidence in her talent. We want to represent the Thai people in wishing her success in winning America’s Got Talent 2026, bringing pride to Thailand,” Ms Ploythalay said.
“This isn’t just a showcase of musical ability, but also an opportunity to present Thai identity on a world stage, a genuine display of soft power that Thailand can be proud of.”
As a native of Phuket herself, Ms Ploythalay said she wanted to hold up Nene as a role model for Thai youth, someone who has shown determination and confidence in expressing herself while carrying a Thai identity, her powerful voice and guitar skills onto a world stage.
Due to strict international copyright and licensing restrictions, the final two live broadcasts of America’s Got Talent are exclusive to the United States.
TrueVisions will carry delayed broadcasts of the final performances on True X-Zyte (Channel 340) starting 3pm on Thursday, and the grand finale at 3pm on Friday. The shows will be available for streaming, with Thai subtitles, on the TrueVisions NOW App from 8pm Thursday and 8pm Friday, respectively.
Thai viewers can also watch performance clips after the broadcast on the official AGT YouTube channel, as well as its Facebook and TikTok sites. YouTube and social media clips are normally uploaded after each performance.
Thai fans located in Thailand cannot cast official votes on the America’s Got Talent apps or website because official voting is restricted to viewers physically located in the United States and Puerto Rico.
Using a VPN or another location-changing service may breach the voting terms and could result in votes being rejected. However, Thai supporters can encourage friends or relatives who are eligible and physically located in the US or Puerto Rico to log in and cast up to 10 votes each.
As well, fans in Thailand can support Nene by sharing and commenting on clips on official AGT accounts, helping her performances reach a wider international audience.
