The government announced a temporary closure of the M6 exit connecting to the west side of M9 to support construction of the M9 section from Lat Lum Kaeo to Bang Pa-in, expected to be completed by 31 Mar 2027. The public is advised to plan their travel to reduce disruption to journeys and traffic flow during this period.

On 5 Nov 2026, Ms. Ploytale Lakshamisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, revealed that the Department of Highways (DOH), Ministry of Transport, plans to adjust traffic patterns at the connection point between Motorway 6 (M6) from Bang Pa-in to Nakhon Ratchasima and Motorway 9 (M9) west side at the Bang Pa-in 2 interchange. The exit from M6 toward M9 west side (Bang Bua Thong) will be temporarily closed starting 6 Nov 2026 to construct connection points and entrance-exit ramps as part of the M9 outer ring road western section construction between Lat Lum Kaeo and Bang Pa-in. During construction, traffic on M9's main lanes will be diverted to parallel routes 3901 and 3902, which have been pre-expanded to three lanes each way to accommodate traffic volume and mitigate local traffic disruption. The construction work at the connection and entrance-exit points is expected to be completed by 31 Mar 2027.

During construction, travelers from M6 (Nakhon Ratchasima side) heading toward M9 west side (Bang Bua Thong) will temporarily be unable to use the direct exit connection at Bang Pa-in 2 interchange. They are advised to use the exit from M6 to Route 1 (Phahonyothin Road) or to M9 east side to connect to their desired routes instead. Meanwhile, travelers from M9 west side (Bang Bua Thong) heading toward M6 (Nakhon Ratchasima side) can continue to use the M6 connecting ramps as usual, observing posted signs and following staff directions. Those traveling from Route 1 (Phahonyothin Road) toward M6 can still use the entrance near Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU).

"The government requests cooperation from road users to plan their trips in advance, allow extra travel time, reduce speed when passing construction zones, and strictly obey traffic signs for safety. The Department of Highways will confirm the exact dates and times of the closure and provide detailed detour information before starting the work. Measures will include installing warning signs, route guidance signs, traffic signals, and safety equipment, with staff monitoring traffic conditions around the clock to minimize impacts on the public during construction," Ms. Ploytale stated.
