Temple is launching in 6 colours, Deepinder Goyal says pre-orders opening next week
Deepinder Goyal’s Temple has become one of the most anticipated wearables that we have seen in recent times. So far, we had only seen Temple in a golden shade. But now, Goyal has revealed that the device will come in as many as six colour options with pre-orders starting soon.
On X, the Zomato founder shared images of the various Temple colour options. These are True Gold, Rose Gold, Black Mirror, Real Jade (a shade of green), Deep Blue, and Purple Funk. Goyal teased that these colours were for the first Temple devices. “Six colors for the launch edition of Temple,” he wrote. This could mean that Temple may only come in these colours for the first few customers, and later the options may change. However this remains unclear. Colour options for Temple.
Adding to the post, Deepinder Goyal hinted that Temple may be available for pre-orders as early as next week. “Pre-orders open soon - hopefully next week; just need certainty on a couple more items,” Goyal added.What is Temple?
Temple is a wearable device that appears to be quite different from a regular smart ring or a smartwatch. The device is tiny in size and sticks to the temple – the place between your forehead and ear – of your head, which gives it its name. We have already seen Badminton star PV Sindhu wearing the Temple during live matches.
According to the company, the temple region gives the device access to signals that can be used to study cerebral blood flow, oxygenation and how the body responds to different activities. Goyal’s broader pitch for the device is centred on brain blood supply, and how it regulates our hormones, sleep, immunity and repair. To measure this, Temple uses its own system called Brain Flow, which Goyal called the first continuous, wearable measurement of blood flow to the brain.
While some have been skeptical about Temple’s effectiveness in measuring such metrics, Deepinder Goyal has shared studies on Temple in recent weeks. One study compared Temple Brain Flow with time-domain near-infrared spectroscopy, or TD-NIRS, which can distinguish signals from deeper brain tissue and superficial scalp layers. Deepinder Goyal has teased that Temple may be available for pre-orders next week. Previously, he had mentioned that the limited launch edition would begin shipping before the end of 2026.
Though to get your hands on one, you will need to apply for early access via the Temple website. Early access submissions have been open since May this year.
Pricing for Temple remains unclear.
