A 31-year-old woman from Telangana died in a road accident in Missouri, US, leaving her family and relatives devastated.

The deceased was identified as Daram Supriya, a native of Maripeda mandal in Mahabubabad district. According to preliminary information, Supriya was returning home in a car with a friend after finishing work at a restaurant in St Louis when a truck allegedly rammed their vehicle from behind.

The accident reportedly took place around 2:20 am on Sunday. Supriya died at the spot, while another Indian woman from Kodad who was travelling with her sustained serious injuries. She was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Supriya had married Kodumuri Ranjith, a software employee, around five years ago. The couple was living in Missouri and has a two-and-a-half-year-old son.

News of Supriya's death left her parents, in-laws and relatives in shock. Her father, Daram Srinivas, has appealed to the Telangana government for assistance in bringing his daughter's mortal remains back to India so that the family can perform her last rites.
