In an initiative to strengthen climate education, the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) on Thursday said it will introduce B.A. programme in Climate Change, Sustainability and Environmental Governance from the next academic year.
TGCHE Chairman V. Balakista Reddy announced this while inaugurating the 6th edition of the Conference of People for Climate Action, organised by TGCHE and the Council of Green Revolution.
Highlighting the growing challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, water scarcity and pollution, Mr. Reddy stressed the need for collective environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. He said the interdisciplinary programme would equip students with knowledge and practical skills in climate science, environmental policies, natural resource management, environmental laws and governance.
