The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has notified consumers that Suzuki Auto South Africa is recalling 543 Grand Vitara vehicles sold from May 2025.

The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has notified consumers that Suzuki Auto South Africa is recalling 543 Grand Vitara vehicles sold from May 2025.

According to the manufacturer, the low fuel warning light may not turn on as the fuel level decreases. The driver may thus not be alerted the fuel level is low, which could result in the vehicle running out of fuel, causing the engine to stall and preventing it from starting.

Consumers who own the affected vehicles have been urged to take their vehicles to their nearest authorised Suzuki dealership for a fuel gauge inspection. Any corrective work will be performed at no cost.

The Suzuki Grand Vitara is imported from India and was launched in South Africa in April 2023.
