The section of road was closed about 2.50pm.

As of 4.25pm, about 70% of the cleanup had been completed, but the road remained closed, the Sathorn District Office reported.

No injuries or significant property damage were reported. (continues below)

Heavy thundershowers moved across Bangkok about 20 minutes before noon, with the strong winds causing trees to sway dangerously across the city.

Suan Phlu Road in Sathon runs south from South Sathon Road and is also known as Soi Sathon 3. It is lined with large trees and lush greenery.
