SR University (SRU), Warangal, has made its debut in the QS Asia University Rankings 2027, securing a place in the 701-710 rank band among universities across Asia.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, SR University Chancellor A. Varada Reddy said the institution had secured the 19th position among State private universities in India and emerged as the top-ranked private university in the Telugu States.
He said the university’s entry into the QS rankings on its first attempt marked an important milestone in its efforts to strengthen its international presence.
The QS Asia University Rankings assess institutions on parameters such as academic and employer reputation, research performance, faculty-student ratio, international research networks and internationalisation.
Mr. Varada Reddy said the university had also received recognition in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027 and the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026. These achievements reflected the institution’s progress in academic quality, research, sustainability and international engagement, he added.
Vice-Chancellor Deepak Garg attributed the recognition to sustained efforts to improve academic standards, research output, international collaborations and industry partnerships.
He said the university was focusing on interdisciplinary learning, practical training, research-driven innovation and student employability to build a globally competitive academic environment. Registrar P.V. Ramana Rao was also present at the press conference.
