So fresh, so clean: Outkast's Waffle House merch drop - USA Today
Two Atlanta institutions are teaming up for a special merchandise collection.
Legendary hip-hop duo Outkast and Waffle House, the fast casual breakfast chain, announced they have partnered on a "special, limited edition" collaboration that features a pop-up shop with merchandise, souvenir menus and complimentary coupons.
The pop-up shop will be at the Waffle House restaurant across the street from Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, located at 135 Andrew Young International Blvd. NW, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 2.
According to Waffle House, the pop-up shop will feature a collection of limited-edition merch, including t-shirts, hoodies, bomber jackets, bucket hats, socks and coffee mugs, among other items. Free souvenir menus will also be given out and the pop-up will be serving limited-edition AndreΜ 3000 and Big Boi meals.
Fans who want to shop the merch collection but cannot attend the pop-up can shop the items at Outkast.com, according to Waffle House. The collection will go live online at 11 a.m. ET on Oct. 2.
"ATL, we got you with the official Outkast x Waffle House launch party. Come on down," the duo posted on Instagram on Thursday, Oct. 1.
The duo posted another teaser on Instagram on Sept. 30, including a look at some of the special Outkast-branded items that will be available at the pop-up shop. Many of the items have the phrase "Gator melts and patty melts" written on them, a reference to Outkast's 2000 hit song "So Fresh, So Clean."
No, this collaboration with Waffle House is strictly a merch drop. The duo has not released an album together since 2006.
