Sean McVay reveals Kamren Kinchens also got injured in Week 1
After an offseason of fairly good health, the Los Angeles Rams got banged up in the opener against the San Francisco 49ers. Nate Landman, Kam Curl, Davis Allen and Omar Speights all exited the game at various points and while Sean McVay offered “positive” updates on all four of them Monday, he also revealed another player got hurt in the loss.
During the “Coach McVay Show”, the Rams coach told J.B. Long that safety Kamren Kinchens “got a little bit of a hamstring” against the 49ers. McVay added that the Rams will “see what that looks like as we progress through the week,” offering no further details about the severity of the injury.
Kinchens played 52 of the 65 defensive snaps (80%), so he was on the field for most of the game, but it was previously unknown that he got hurt.
The Rams won't hold their first official practice of the week until Thursday because they play against the New York Giants on Monday night. That means their initial injury report will be released on Thursday, too, which could include a lot of names beyond just Kinchens'.
Fortunately, it doesn't sound like any of the injuries are too severe, though we're still waiting to hear more about Kinchens' availability. If he's unable to play against the Giants, Jaylen McCollough and Josh Wallace could see more playing time.
