Sara Duterte slams Marcos admin over Banga school shooting, says Pinoys deserve better leadership - GMA Network

Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday slammed the Marcos administration over the recent school shooting in Banga, South Cotabato that left three students dead and others injured, saying the public deserves “better leadership than this.”

Duterte noted that this is the third school shooting to take place within the year.

“Para kasi sa administrasyong Marcos, mas madali ang maging inutil, magnakaw, at magsamantala kaysa magsilbi nang tapat sa bayan,” she said in a statement.

(Because for the Marcos administration, it is easier to be useless, steal, and take advantage than to serve the country faithfully.)

“At sa halip na may makabuluhang aksyon at pagpapatupad ng kaayusan, ang administrasyong Marcos ay nakakulong sa walang katapusang laro ng political survival at consolidation,” she added.

(And instead of meaningful action and the enforcement of order, the Marcos administration is trapped in an endless game of political survival and consolidation.)

GMA News Online contacted Malacañang for comment but it has yet to issue a statement as of posting time.

On Friday, at least three students were killed, and eight others were injured following the school shooting in Banga, South Cotabato, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Classes in all levels were suspended on Monday in Banga, while face-to-face classes were suspended in Surallah in South Cotabato in the aftermath of the shooting.

Marcos meanwhile ordered concerned government agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the school shooting at Banga National High School in South Cotabato. —KG, GMA News
