Roberto Mancini Says Manchester City Financial Case Is 'Not My Problem' - Tempo.co English

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Italy national team coach Roberto Mancini has insisted that the issue regarding alleged financial rule violations involving his former club, Manchester City, is not his responsibility.

"It’s not a problem that concerns me [...] It’s not something new because every four or five years this comes up," Mancini said, as quoted by The Guardian on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, as cited by Antara.

Mancini's statement follows reports that an independent commission found Manchester City guilty of 114 out of 115 charges related to breaches of Premier League financial rules (FFP). However, sanctions against the club have not yet been determined, and legal proceedings regarding the case are ongoing.

Manchester City is also expected to appeal the decision.

Mancini managed Manchester City from 2009 to 2013.

During his four years with "The Citizens," he led the club to its first Premier League title in 44 years and also won the FA Cup.

Part of the case concerns allegations that Manchester City failed to provide accurate information regarding payments made to players and coaches over several seasons.

That period includes the time Mancini was in charge. The Italian was also asked about allegations of "double contracts" relating to his tenure at Manchester City.

He reiterated that the matter was the club's business.

"The alleged double contracts are not my business. That’s their problem, not mine," Mancini said.
