NUEVA ECIJA, Philippines – Former overseas Filipino worker Mary Jane Veloso caps an emotional day with her return home to Nueva Ecija on Saturday afternoon, September 26, where she celebrated her newfound freedom with family and friends.

Before going back to her hometown, Veloso first attended Mass and talked to the media, reflecting on her 16-year ordeal in detention and how she coped.
