With Parkinson on the shelf, the Rams turned to Max Klare for the first time this season. The second-round rookie tight end played 25 snaps, the first time he’s gotten a real chance on offense. Though he didn’t catch a pass and wasn’t targeted, Sean McVay liked what he saw from the young tight end.

Klare earned a 66.8 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, helping pave the way for Blake Corum and Kyren Williams’ big day. McVay said on Monday that Klare did “a really good job” for the Rams and he could see more playing time in the future.

“I do,” McVay said when asked if he sees the potential for Klare to play more. “I thought he did a really good job. It was good to be able to get him out there and it's like anything else. The more experience you get, the more confidence you earn, the more comfortable that you get with just the speed of play. I thought he did a really good job of getting connected on some blocks, showed up on some routes where he was available even if he didn't get the ball thrown to him. I thought it was a very good step in the right direction and the answer is yes.”

The Rams have Tyler Higbee and Davis Allen, who are both healthy. And McVay said Parkinson is making good progress in his recovery from a rib injury that kept him out last week. Plus, Terrance Ferguson has a chance to practice this week and potentially play in the near future after missing the last five games.

Depth isn't a concern at tight end, but if the Rams can get Klare more involved, it'll only help his development before potentially taking on a starting role in 2027.

The more he plays this season, the better it is for him and the Rams.
