Raiders shock NFL world as one of few 3-0 teams - Raiders Wire

Few people expect an instant turnaround from the worst team in the NFL. That was the Raiders last season when it had just three wins. That same team has now matched their entire 2025 season win total in three weeks. That's right, the Raiders are 3-0 to start the season. And it's sent a few shockwaves across the NFL.

Coming into the season, ESPN analytics gave the Raiders a 6.7% chance of going 3-0 to start the season. And they have only been favored once this season -- the opener against the Dolphins who were widely considered the worst team in football.

They handled the Dolphins. And they followed that up by beating a Chargers team that was expected to be among the top teams this season. And on Sunday they went into a hostile environment to take down a Saints team that had come roaring back against two very good teams in Detroit and Baltimore -- taking one to overtime and beating the other outright -- and coming away with win.

Now the rest of the NFL is in collective shock as they stand alongside only a handful of 3-0 teams. Many of the other teams were expected to be in this position, especially the AFC with the Raiders joining the powerhouse Chiefs and Bills. Leading to some fun responses.

In total there are currently five 3-0 clubs. Along with the Raiders, Chiefs, and Bills, the NFC has the 49ers and Vikings. And the Eagles are sitting at 2-0, set to face the Bears on Monday Night Football.

That's some elite company. It proves just how quickly things can turn around with improved coaching and a few solid roster changes.

If the Raiders keep winning, the shock will only continue to rise across the NFL. Especially if they could take down the rival Chiefs next weekend. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
