Presley Gerber's mental health struggles, final posts on recovery resurface
Presley Gerber had been open about his struggles with mental health and addiction, often using social media to document his recovery journey. Following his death at 27, one of his final posts about that journey has resurfaced, offering a glimpse into the challenges he was facing and his efforts to find his way back to himself.
Gerber died on Sunday, September 20, at a rehabilitation facility, according to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, as reported by CNN.

In the caption, Gerber described the moments before the treatment as a frightening experience.
“Pre Ibogaine Flood Dose - quiet moment before everything changed,” he wrote.
Gerber admitted that he was “absolutely terrified” and said that learning to let go of control had been difficult. He also spoke about trusting that “something bigger” was guiding him through the experience.
He expressed hope that the treatment would help him find his way back to himself and that he would not need to go through a similar experience again. The post was originally a promotional one, but following news of his death, fans have been using its comments section to pay tribute to him and offer condolences to his family.
“R.I.P. Presley. Heartfelt condolences to your family at this tragic time,” one user wrote.
Another commented, “Rest in Peace beautiful angel.”
Several followers also expressed shock after learning about his death, with many referring to the posts in which Gerber had spoken about his personal struggles.

His openness about his struggles had also been acknowledged by his family. In December last year, Gerber shared a video discussing prescription medication he had been taking, including antidepressants and Xanax for panic attacks.
Cindy had responded to that post at the time, writing, “Presley — we love you and you are not alone.”
