Preparations under way for Samastha centenary celebrations

Preparations are under way for the centenary programmes of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, led by Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar. The four-day celebrations will be held at Wadi Haramayn at Kooriyad near Vengara from January 28 to 31, 2027.

The programmes will focus on social empowerment and cover children, students, youth, families and senior citizens. The action plan includes village development, mahallu reforms, social welfare schemes, financial discipline and sustainable development projects.

As part of the centenary campaign, Samastha will organise awareness programmes against drug abuse, extravagance, violence and financial crimes. Conferences will be held in different States and GCC countries. In Keralam, 630 Tasqiya conferences focusing on self-improvement will be organised.

Samastha will also hold discussion meetings at 130 centres in the State on more than 100 social issues. The sessions will cover democracy, secularism, family, law, education, faith, spirituality and social responsibilities.

District-level mahallu management conferences will discuss employment, food security, healthcare, education, cyber safety, digital literacy, drug prevention, youth empowerment, environmental protection, waste management and mental health.

Sunni Students Federation (SSF)’s volunteer group, which has around 25,000 student members, will support the centenary programmes. Members will receive training in politics, careers and social service, with projects planned at campuses and local levels.

Other programmes will focus on the welfare of persons with disabilities and senior citizens, social harmony, responsible digital citizenship, health, environmental protection and employment and financial sustainability.

At a centenary reception committee meeting held at Edarikode on Sunday evening (September 27), committee vice-chairman C. Mohammed Faizy inaugurated the programme. Samastha Mushawara member Kombam K.P. Mohammed Musliyar presided. Samastha secretary Perode Abdul Rahman Saqafi presented the action plan.
