Prasidh ruled out of 3rd ODI as flat pitches, humid weather claim first victim
India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the 3rd ODI against West Indies. India Today has learnt that the fast bowler, who was taken out of the 2nd ODI in Guwahati midway through the match, will not be available for the final ODI of the bilateral series.
Conditions have been taxing for the fast bowlers in the ongoing ODI series. High humidity and bowling under the hot sun have made life difficult for the players. The fast bowlers have faced the brunt of it, with Shubman Gill's India bowling first in both matches.
Prasidh, who bowled his full quota of 10 overs in the first ODI, was taken off the attack midway through the match in Guwahati. Prasidh had bowled three overs till then and conceded 45 runs.
India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak later informed the press that the pacer had picked up a niggle and would undergo scans on Thursday, October 1. Sources have told India Today that Prasidh has pulled his hamstring and has been ruled out of the final ODI of the series.
Injuries to fast bowlers have been a concern for the Indian camp in the last few months. Nitish Reddy was ruled out of action for a brief period recently, while Hardik Pandya has not played professional cricket since the Indian Premier League 2026.
However, the BCCI has not announced a replacement for Prasidh yet. In the absence of the pacer, Mohammed Siraj could slot in as a replacement option for the Indian team.- Ends
