PCB introduces first-ever central contracts for Pakistan U19 players

Pakistan U19 head coach Shahid Anwar and players have expressed their gratitude to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for introducing central contracts at the U19 level for the first time. Anwar said Naqvi invited the U19 players after their impressive performance in England and held individual meetings with them, providing encouragement and motivation. “The introduction of central contracts for U19 players for the first time is a welcome step,” Anwar said. “It will encourage young players to improve their performances.” He added that rewarding good performances would boost the confidence of young cricketers, while Naqvi’s encouragement had provided a source of strength for both the players and coaching staff. Pakistan U19 captain Farhan Yousuf also praised the development camps held in Multan, saying they had benefited the players greatly. “The U19 camps in Multan have produced positive results over the past two years,” Yousuf said, adding that meeting Naqvi had been an encouraging experience. Aalyan Salman said the central contracts would boost players’ confidence and allow them to focus more on their cricket. Jahangir Bilal said the contracts would also enable young players to provide financial support to their families. Rizwanullah thanked Naqvi and the PCB for what he described as a historic initiative, adding that the announcement of rewards and central contracts had provided significant encouragement to the young cricketers.
