AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Thursday (October 1, 2026) urged the TVK-led government to protect the employment of workers attached to the Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project, also known as the Vaazhndhu Kattuvom Project, whose services were reportedly discontinued with effect from September 23 this year.
Mr. Palaniswami also urged the TVK-led government to clear the pending two-month salary dues of the workers. Highlighting the hardships faced by them in finding employment elsewhere, as they had spent most of their employable years in this project, he urged the State government to utilise their services for the Vaazhndhu Kattuvom Project 3.0 as well.
