Out to get chole bhature for girlfriend, UP man caught by wife, beaten up

A plan to pick up chole bhature for his girlfriend turned into a public showdown for a man in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur district, after his wife arrived at the market, caught him red-handed and thrashed him.

The high-voltage drama unfolded in Brijghat, a pilgrimage town in Hapur, where Ajay was staying with his girlfriend at a guest house.

He had stepped out to get two plates of chole bhature when his wife, Kavita, arrived with her family after receiving information that he was with another woman.

Kavita has claimed that Ajay had been regularly leaving home in the morning claiming he was going to work, but would instead meet his girlfriend. The family had reportedly been troubled by his actions for some time.

When Kavita got word that Ajay was in Brijghat, she rushed there with her family.

They spotted him near a guest house and his chole bhature, however, came with an unexpected side order of family drama.

Kavita confronted Ajay, following which a crowd gathered at the spot. She and her family beat him up in the middle of the market.

Ajay, however, denied his wife's allegations. He said he was not with any woman and had come to Brijghat because he was under mental stress at home.

Kavita was not convinced. Her question was simple: If Ajay was alone, she asked, then who was the second plate of chole bhature for?

The matter eventually reached the police station.

Following intervention by the police and with both sides agreeing to resolve the matter, the dispute was settled and Ajay and Kavita returned home.- Ends
