One more arrested in Palarivattom ‘dacoity’ case

The Palarivattom police, probing the alleged dacoity at the rented residence of a group of migrant workers, have arrested one more person in connection with the case.

The police said the person was arrested from Palakkad. With this, all seven accused in the case have been arrested, they claimed.

The police have not disclosed the identity of the arrested people yet, as an identification parade with the victims is pending. Six accused, who were nabbed from different locations in the State last week, have been remanded in the District Jail, Kakkanad. “Once the identification parade is complete, investigators will seek their custody for interrogation,” an officer said.

The case pertains to an alleged incident on September 17, 2026, when a five-member gang robbed seven migrant workers, including three women, of ₹1,20,000 in cash, 10 mobile phones worth approximately ₹3,05,000, gold ornaments, and other valuables. The mobile phones and a portion of the stolen money were recovered from the accused, the police said. The accused reportedly disrobed the victims while searching for ornaments.
