Labour Minister and Dharwad district in charge Santosh Lad directed officials to ensure that government welfare schemes reached eligible beneficiaries and that public grievances were addressed within stipulated timelines.

Inaugurating a district-level Praja Seva campaign programme in Bammigatti village of Kalaghatagi taluk of Dharwad district on Saturday, Mr. Lad said the State government had launched the Praja Seva initiative to take government schemes to people’s doorsteps.

He said officials should visit villages, listen to people’s grievances and take steps to resolve them. Applications received during the campaign would be addressed on the spot wherever possible. Unresolved issues would be taken up at the taluk, district and State levels, he said.

Mr. Lad stressed the need for officials to discharge their responsibilities carefully and proactively, adding that public cooperation was essential for the effective implementation of government programmes.

A total of 142 applications were received during the meeting, covering issues such as housing, road development and improvement of schools.

Eligible beneficiaries received seeds through the Animal Husbandry Department, while sewing machines were distributed to eligible women through the Industries Department.

The Hubballi Electricity Supply Company Limited distributed ₹5 lakh in compensation to Shilpa Matrodi, whose husband died while in service.

Residents of Devikoppa and Bammigatti submitted petitions seeking road development. E-Swathu certificates were also distributed to 22 residents of Bammigatti under the State government’s Bhoo Guarantee scheme, described as its sixth guarantee initiative.

District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority president S.R. Patil, district in-charge secretary Kumar T.H.M., Deputy Commissioner Snehal R., Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Bhuvanesh Patil, Superintendent of Police Gunjan Arya and other officials were present.
