The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited Expressions of Interest (EoI) from experienced educators, researchers, academicians and domain specialists for empanelment as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for national-level examinations. In a separate invitation, the testing agency has also sought language experts to work as translation reviewers for examination content in 13 Indian languages.

Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official NTA portal. The roles include question authoring and design, review and vetting, moderation, and translation and transadaptation.

Experts involved in question development will be expected to prepare syllabus-aligned questions that assess higher-order thinking and application-based understanding.

The review and vetting process will involve checking test items for conceptual accuracy, clarity and appropriate difficulty levels. Experts may also be involved in moderation to ensure standardisation, neutrality and adherence to examination blueprints.

The NTA has said experienced educators and academicians can contribute to maintaining pedagogical standards and academic integrity across national-level examinations.WHO CAN APPLY FOR SME ROLES?

The invitation is open to serving or retired faculty members, professors, school educators and domain specialists with demonstrable expertise in their respective subjects.

The empanelled experts may contribute to examination-related activities based on their subject expertise and the requirements of the NTA.LANGUAGE EXPERTS FOR TRANSLATION REVIEW

The NTA has also sought experts with proficiency in the required Indian languages to review translated examination content.

The agency is expanding the availability of examination content in multiple Indian languages, making translation accuracy an important part of the assessment process.

The translation reviewers will examine content translated with the assistance of artificial intelligence and check it for accuracy, clarity, consistency and contextual relevance.
