Back at the start of September, word broke that the 49ers hosted Jackson on a workout. It was only this week, though, that Jackson actually signed on board with the 49ers’ practice squad.

Jackson is a pretty notable former Bengals player at this point. The third-round pick from 2024 never broke through, then asked for a trade last season.

Now, Jackson gets a fresh start and chance to develop elsewhere, while the Bengals move forward with Dexter Lawrence, Jonathan Allen, BJ Hill and TJ Slaton, with Kris Jenkins and Landon Robinson as their own developmental depth.
