No CBSE Datesheet 2027 yet: When will Class 10, 12 board exam timetable be out?
The wait for the CBSE Board Exam 2027 datesheet continues, with the board yet to release the tentative schedule for Classes 10 and 12. While students are awaiting clarity on the subject-wise dates, CBSE has not announced when the timetable will be released.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in, for the latest updates.
The timeline has drawn attention as CBSE released the tentative schedule for the 2026 board exams on September 24, 2025, based on registration data for students in Classes 9 and 11. The final datesheet was released on October 30, 2025.
CBSE had said the tentative schedule was issued 146 days ahead of the examinations to give students, schools and other stakeholders sufficient time to plan their academic preparations.
Preparations for the 2027 board examinations have already moved to the candidate-registration stage.
CBSE opened the online submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class 10 and Class 12 main examinations for the 2026-27 academic session in September. Schools are required to submit candidate details through the official CBSE system.
The board has stressed that schools must enter students' personal details and subject choices accurately. Only students whose names are submitted through the LOC process will be eligible to appear for the corresponding board examinations.CBSE CLASS 10, 12 SAMPLE PAPERS 2027 RELEASED
While the datesheet is awaited, CBSE has already released the sample question papers and marking schemes for Classes 10 and 12 for the 2026-27 academic session.

The 2027 examination cycle will also be the second year of CBSE's two-board-examination system for Class 10.
CBSE introduced the second board examination from the 2026 examination cycle in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 reforms. Under the system, the first examination is the main board examination, while the second provides another opportunity under the scheme notified by the board.
For 2026, CBSE scheduled the first Class 10 examination in February – March and the second examination in May. A separate datesheet for the second examination was issued in April 2026.

The 2027 examination cycle comes after several developments during the 2026 board examination and evaluation process.
CBSE's introduction of On-Screen Marking (OSM) for evaluation of Class 12 answer books was followed by complaints concerning scanned answer sheets, technical glitches, access to answer books and the post-result verification and re-evaluation process.
The board subsequently opened facilities for verification and re-evaluation. In June, CBSE also said it had lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police over coordinated cyber attacks on its post-result services portal.

Senior IAS officer Mandeep K Bhandari was appointed the new chairperson of CBSE on September 25, 2026. Bhandari is a 2001-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre. The government order appointed him as CBSE chairperson in the rank and pay of an Additional Secretary to the Government of India, with the post temporarily upgraded for the appointment.
His appointment follows a series of leadership changes at CBSE this year. In June, Rahul Singh was transferred from the chairperson's post and Lokhande Prashant Sitaram was appointed as the new chairperson. Lokhande was later given an additional charge while serving as Additional Secretary in the Union Home Ministry.
Bhandari's appointment comes amid the board's ongoing examination-related reforms and scrutiny of the OSM evaluation process.
With LOC submission underway and sample papers and marking schemes already released, preparations for the CBSE Board Examinations 2027 are in progress. The tentative datesheet is now the next key update students are waiting for, as it will provide the subject-wise schedule and help them plan their revision and practical examinations.
