Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu.
Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has called for stronger collaboration between the Federal and state governments to tackle banditry and other forms of criminality threatening parts of the country. Aliyu made the call in his Independence Day message to the people of Sokoto State on Thursday, as Nigeria marked its 66th anniversary. The governor commended the Federal Government for its support in the fight against banditry in Sokoto, saying sustained cooperation between both levels of government was necessary to restore lasting peace. “There is a strong synergy between the Sokoto State Government and the Federal Government in our collective commitment towards protecting the lives and property of our people,” Aliyu said.
