NCST member visits NTPC Ramagundam

National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) member Jatothu Hussain has emphasised the need to safeguard the constitutional rights of Scheduled Tribes (STs) and ensure the effective implementation of welfare measures for their empowerment and development.

He along with officials of the Commission visited NTPC Ramagundam in Peddapalli district on Thursday, according to a press release.

He held detailed review meetings with ST emplolyees and representatives of the ST Employees’ Association and senior officials of NTPC Ramagundam.

The delegation was welcomed by NTPC Ramagundam & Telangana Executive Director and Head of Project Chandan Kumar Samanta, and other senior officials.

NTPC officials made a comprehensive presentation on the implementation of various welfare measures for ST employees, compliance with reservation policy, training and development initiatives and grievance redressal mechanisms.

The delegation was also briefed on the company’s CSR initiatives, particularly those aimed at the socio-economic development of tribal and neighbouring communities.
