N.L. band Hey Rosetta! reuniting after near decade-long hiatus

The band played their last show in 2017, but announced four shows at the Jag Soundhouse in St. John's in February, along with shows in Toronto and Montreal.
The seven-piece indie rock band consists of Tim Baker, Adam Hogan, Phil Maloney, Josh Ward, Kinley Dowling, Romesh Thavanathan and Mara Pellerin.
The band's debut album, Plan Your Escape, turns 20 years old this year. Their 2008 record, Into Your Lungs (And Around In Your Heart And On Through Your Blood), was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize.
"We always thought we would get back together and play again someday. But of course our lives began orbiting around new projects and purposes, and to mobilise the will and energy and dedication to do the thing justice seemed almost impossible," Baker wrote in a letter published by the band, which announced the shows, on Tuesday.
"I screwed up the courage to ask Phil & Romesh, Adam & Josh, Kinley & Mara, and every one of them said yes right away … Why not go back into it, enjoy it & celebrate it for what it was, what it took to do, and what it gave."
The band released four full-length studio albums, five EPs and a live album. Their final album, Second Sight, released in 2014.
Hey Rosetta! have won several MusicNL and East Coast Music Awards, and were nominated for a Juno award in 2012.
Tickets for the reunion shows will go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
