MVD cracks the whip following complaints against private buses

The Motor Vehicles department (MVD) conducted inspections in Ernakulam following complaints of rash driving, high-handedness, and road rage involving private buses. As many as 80 violations were detected, and a total fine of ₹1.30 lakh was levied.
Legal action was initiated against erring drivers and bus operators, according to the MVD.
The special drive was held in areas including Kaloor, Aluva, Vyttila, Thripunithura, and Thevara.
The violations detected include racing by private buses, overspeeding, breach of permit conditions, driving with open doors, driving without valid licence, and trip curtailment. The other offences include concealing registered number plates and unauthorised alterations.
