Mike Vrabel shares initial injury update on Patriots WR Mack Hollins - Patriots Wire
On a day when the New England Patriots should be celebrating their massive Week 4 win over the Buffalo Bills, they are also dealing with another major injury on the roster.
Patriots veteran wide receiver Mack Hollins left Sunday's game early with a calf injury and did not return. He was seen hopping off the field on one leg after he seemingly suffered a non-contact injury while running a route.
"I don't know if he'll be able to practice here for a couple days," Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said on Hollins, via Patriots Wire's Sophie Weller, when speaking with reporters on Monday.
If Hollins isn't able to practice for a couple of days, it puts his availability for Week 5 in doubt. That means the Patriots could be entering a tough matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders without quarterback Drake Maye's favorite downfield threats, Hollins and A.J. Brown, who is still on injured reserve.
The Patriots could continue to give added reps to second-year wide receiver Efton Chism III, who made the game-winning catch against the Bills. They could also look to the practice squad or even an outside veteran to bring in and contribute with Hollins and Brown sidelined.
