Michael V. happy to fill in for Dingdong Dantes as 'Family Feud' host

Michael V. will be taking on the hosting duties on “Family Feud" as Dingdong Dantes goes on a temporary break to focus on his upcoming taping for "The Master Cutter."

In Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, Bitoy shared that he does not want anyone else to host the game show but Dingdong.

“Personally, I don’t want anyone else to host. I only want Dingdong,” the comedy legend said in a mix of Filipino and English. “But since he isn’t available, I don’t want other people to host this, so I said, I’ll do it."

It has been more than a decade since Bitoy last hosted a show, so he thought he would struggle with "Family Feud." However, he said it felt like no time had passed.

“It’s one of those things that are fun to do. I haven’t hosted in a long time, so here, this time, I’m still at home in this scenario,” Michael V said.

“It’s gladdening,” he added. “I’m just not used to not holding a mic, because the last time I hosted, I still held a mic.”

Meanwhile, Dingdong is thankful that his “idol na idol” is substituting for him.

“Kuya Bitoy, thank you very much,” Dingdong said.

“While we are working on “Master Cutter,” I’m sure everyone watching ‘Family Feud’ will be absolutely delighted, especially the contestants,” he added.

Dingdong also said that he will visit Bitoy.

Dingdong temporarily signed off from “Family Feud” hosting duties on Wednesday to focus on his primetime series, “The Master Cutter.”

“Family Feud” airs Monday to Friday, at 5:40 PM on GMA Network.

Meanwhile, “The Master Cutter" airs Mondays to Fridays on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It also streams on Netflix.
