Manchester United lineup vs Brighton today: Carrick makes changes - USA Today
Manchester United will aim to bounce back from a derby defeat when it hosts Brighton on Wednesday, Sept. 16 in the Carabao Cup third round.
The Red Devils fell 1-0 to Man City on Sunday, Sept. 13, despite playing most of the game with a man advantage after Phil Foden's red card. The defeat left Michael Carrick's side with just four points from its opening four league games.
Carrick has rotated his side on Wednesday with one eye toward a Premier League clash with Fulham on Sunday, Sept. 20.
But United will need to be wary of a Brighton side that has started the season in excellent form.
Carrick will be missing a number of players including Matthijs de Ligt (back), Manuel Ugarte (knee), Carlos Baleba (ankle), Amad Diallo (ankle) and Tom Heaton (hamstring).
Luke Shaw failed a late fitness test after missing the derby with muscle tightness.
Another player who isn't involved is 15-year-old wonderkid JJ Gabriel, who was set to make the bench for this match before handing in a transfer request this week.
Here is how Manchester United will line up against Brighton.
