According to police, a case was registered at Chaklala police station on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Zahid Mahmood. The complainant stated that he and other personnel were on duty on Old Airport Road when they spotted a man walking towards Koral Chowk in an Army uniform.
Finding his movements suspicious, the police stopped and checked him. The man introduced himself as Captain Amir Sohail of the SSG. However, he failed to provide satisfactory answers about his unit and place of posting.
During a search, police recovered a wallet from the uniform pocket containing an Army card bearing the name Captain Amir Sohail, copies of documents, identity cards belonging to men and women under different names, and Rs1,500.
A mobile phone was recovered from another pocket, containing photographs of the suspect wearing an Army uniform.
Police also recovered a shalwar kameez, a pair of shoes, a passport bearing the name Hassan Mohiuddin and a photocopy of an adoption form from his shoulder bag. The identity card and adoption card reportedly carried different names for the suspect's father.
