Man dies in wall collapse at Ranipet

A 35-year-old wage labourer was killed after a wall of a dilapidated house collapsed on him while he was working on demolishing the building in Kalar village on Wednesday.

The police said that the deceased victim was identified as R. Vinod Kumar, 35, a resident of Tiruvannamalai. Initial inquiry revealed that B. Saravanan, 57, a trader, roped in a few workers, including Vinod Kumar, to reconstruct his dilapidated house. Vinod Kumar succumbed to his injuries at Government Taluk Hospital.

A case was registered. A probe is underway.
