Man, 25, found unconscious & pronounced dead in NTU Hall 13 - Mothership
The body of a 25-year-old man was discovered in a residential hall at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on Aug. 31.
The police confirmed with Mothership that they received a call for assistance at 32 Nanyang Crescent at 11pm that day.
32 Nanyang Crescent is the address of Hall 13, one of NTU's residential halls on campus.
Police said the man was found lying motionless and was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
In response to Mothership's queries, an NTU spokesperson said the university is "deeply saddened" by the passing of a student on campus.
"Our immediate priority is supporting the student's family, affected students and the wider campus community during this difficult time," the spokesperson said.
NTUβs Campus Security responded to a call for assistance on Aug. 31 night and subsequently called the police and SCDF paramedics to the scene, they added.
The spokesperson said they are unable to provide further details while police investigations are ongoing.
"NTU wellbeing staff and counsellors are in touch with the student's family and affected students to provide support and assistance," they said.
