Madlanga Commission adjourns public hearings for a month - EWN

The Madlanga Commission has adjourned public hearings for a month.

The commission granted a postponement for alleged crime kingpin Vusimusi 'Cat' Matlala, who was scheduled to testify on Thursday.

Matlala was subpoenaed on 25 September, but couldn't secure legal representation on time.

Chairperson Mbuyiseli Madlanga postponed his testimony to December, taking issue with the late subpoena.

"We just simply cannot afford to lose days, not at this stage when everybody gets sick these days and goes to hospital and sometimes even threatened to go to Ukuthwasa or training for ukubuyisa ingoma and all those things. So we, we just cannot afford slippages or day losses."
